Not just a normal bakery, but the DUKE BAKERY.
Since I have an undying indescribable love for bread (as most people should know), I decided to kickstart my blog with a blogpost on bread! Since many people have also asked me what my favourite bakery in Singapore is, today I will be sharing my favourite bakery and current obsession - Duke Bakery!
(Taken from: http://dukebakery.sg/)
"The bakery prides itself in the creation of exquisite handcrafted breads using only the finest quality ingredients from Europe. A group of dedicated, highly skilled craftsmen then combines the Japanese, European and Taiwanese styles of bread making to create an impressive line up of artisan breads. The first outlet in Singapore opened its doors on 27 October 2013 to rousing response. Following the success of the store, Duke Bakery has continued to serve even more customers with a subsequent additional outlets." (Taken from: http://dukebakery.sg/)
I absolutely love the breads from this bakery as their breads are fresh, soft but chewy at the same time. The breads are always freshly made every single day and delivered to the shops, where people are free to sample the breads before purchasing them. I really like this concept as this reduces the chances of customers ending up buying a loaf of bread that they do not like. Even though their prices may be slightly on the steeper side, I assure you that it is definitely worth the money as their breads are amazingly addictive - which is also why I can eat one loaf at a go and still crave more. On top of this, the filling in their breads are also always very generous, be it chocolate, dried fruit, walnuts and especially cheese! They have all types of breads - sweet to savoury, chocolate to dried fruit and even breads with less oil/sugar for the more health conscious!
My top favourite breads from Duke Bakery would definitely be Sweet Dreams, Hokkaido Double Cheese and Healthy Flaxseed. Other than these few breads, I would also recommend Black Pearl and Chocolate Cheese for those with the sweet tooth, while Vegetable Cheese and the latest Kimchi Cheese for those who prefer their breads savoury! I also used to love the Yam Angel and Baroque, which they have sadly stopped the production of since they were only seasonal items.
